"Prosperity Preachers" and "Mega Churches"

Does God want us to be poor? No.
Does God want us to be sick? No.
God has provided healing and has met our needs.
He provides health and money.
Does God want everyone to be a millionaire? Not necessarily.
God doesn't promise everyone a million dollar bank account or an expensive car and house.

But, the church needs money. Finances are needed for the Gospel to go forth.
It takes money to feed and clothe the homeless.

Romans 10:12-15 "For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

People complain that preachers are spending a lot of money to build huge churches. Think about this: Those preachers are building bigger sanctuaries for more people to come in and hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to come in and be healed and delivered. What is wrong with having a huge building, so more people can come in and hear the Gospel?
I don't belive all of the church houses should be extremely small. If all the church houses are extremely small, then not that many people can come into the sanctuary. Yes, we as Christians are the true "church," and yes, we are to go into the highways and byways (Luke 14:23) and minister to the people in our streets, schools, workplaces, etc. But a church house is a sanctuary, a place of worship, healing, and deliverance, where believers can come together. Don't complain that these church houses are getting larger and larger. They are just making more room for more people to come in to hear the Gospel. They may have a big building with a "main sanctuary," then rooms to have teaching classes.

Don't complain that preachers are spending a lot of money to build large, nice looking, churches. Just take a look at what God told David and Solomon to build in 1 Kings 5-9, 1 Chronicles 28-29, and 2 Chronicles 2-7. They used gold, silver, precious stones, the finest linens, the best wood, and they had a large band after they got done! Why would God tell 2 people to do that, then get mad when others do the same thing?

Then, people complain that all this money is being spent on building the house of God and think it shouldn't be done, but those same people who are complaining are not being faithful stewards over what God has given them. Most of the complainers pay somwhere around $100 a month for a cable bill to watch shows and movies that are totally AGAINST  God. Why pay that much money to watch something that you shouldn't be watching in the first place and something that is wasting your time, family time, devotional time, etc.? Those people are going to sit there for hours a day wasting time they could be spending with their family or ministering to someone else, but they are going to complain that someone is doing something for God. That doesn't make sense. They are not being good stewards over what God has given them.

Matthew 7:3-5 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

People should be more responsible with what God gives them.

Is it wrong for a church to be big and have money? Absolutely not.
If you read in Acts, 3000 were added to the church in one day!
That is a "mega church."
Most churches don't have 3000 members.
There is nothing wrong with large numbers in church.
With large numbers in the church house, there would obviously be more finances in the church.

The church needs money to operate...maintenance, missions, etc.

How much more could the true church of God accomplish with more finances?
How much farther could the Gospel go forth?
Millions more could be reached for God- through television, radio, missionaries, etc.

There is nothing wrong with large numbers and a lot of money in the church (mega churches and prosperity) and having a nice building.

What there is a problem with is when there is when there is a "Mega church" and "prosperity" at the expense of taking care of the homeless and needy.
